The Zanski Family

Herbert Zanski's Story

Last Thanksgiving we had almost the whole clan back at our house for Thanksgiving. Marge and the girls spent all day in the kitchen cooking up a storm. So finally everything is already and set up in the dining room. Marge comes in the room to call us for diner and the next thing we know Buster had jumped on the table and was eating our Thanksgiving turkey. We had to call out for pizza. That’s one Thanksgiving I’ll never forget!!!
Marge Zanski's Story
I remember one day I’m sitting inside watching golf on tv and Herb is mowing the front lawn. All of a sudden I hear a ruckus going on out in the front yard so I turn off the television and walk outside. Sure enough there was Herb with the lawn mower flipped over. The neighbors had come out of the house and were helping him up. Thank God he wasn’t hurt but he was pretty embarrassed, now every time he mows the lawn I make the neighbors keep an eye on him.
Billy Zanski's Story
One day me and my friends were eating lunch in school and it was pasta day and the pasta at my school is so gross. So my friend Tommy accidently spills chocolate milk all over my food. Then he says I’ll give you five dollars if you eat it. So I did and he had to give me five dollars it was so funny.
Leonard Zanski's Story
This is more of a story about happiness than being funny. I remember the day Garth was born. I remember being in the emergency room and the doctor looked at me and said, Mr. Zanski, you have a son. It was my most memorable moment. From that day on I tried to make myself a better person.
Garth Zanski's Story
My story isn’t as interesting as everybody else but when I was six years old I remember I my dad took me to see Guns and Roses open for Poison, and it was the greatest thing anybody has ever done for me. I love my dad.
Rob Zanski's Story
I remember when I was little Leonard and Herbert would always gang up on me and beat me up. I remember one cold January day when they held me down and threw snow in my face and had me completely covered in snow. They were laughing and I was crying, as it turns out I was in the snow for so long and I almost got frostbite. My mom rushed me to the hospital and luckily I was alright, but after my mom got through with them it was the last time they ever ganged up on me again.
Dawn Zanski's Story
The funniest story I have is when I met Robert. We were both still at law school and I remember one day I was in the library reviewing some cases for one of our exams and I look up and I see Robert coming down the stairs and I look at him and he looks at me…..then falls right down the stairs. I felt so horrible I ran over to him and we ended up spending the day together, and now our lives.
Granny Zanski's Story
I remember when I was in labor with Herbert for a day and a half. I remember how much pain I was going through. I wanted to kill his father for doing it to me, but in the end he was worth all of the pain.
Walter Green's Story
Walter Green was born on July 25, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois. When he joined a construction company that led him to the town of Erie, Indiana. There he met and fell in love with Lydia Tanner. After a few years of dating the two were wed. Lydia never changed her name to Green and when their daughters were born they kept her name. Their first daughter named Margaret in 1953, and their second daughter Sylvia in 1960. The two have been very happy together and plan on staying together forever.
Lydia Tanner's Story
I remember when me and Walter moved into our first apartment. The place was horrible. I remember Walter treated it like a palace and I was his queen though, he carried me into the apartment and he made me learn to love it.
Sylvia Tanner's Story
Sylvia was unable to have a story because she is currently living in Muscatatuck State Developmental Center. We hope she gets better soon.
